Picture of Symbolism Wednesday

I often find it interesting how visuals affect people in personal ways and in my view, they are just one reminder of how unique we all are.  It can be a celebration of the fact that we are not all just one river of gray, even when often times one person tries to look or act like another to be accepted.  Even when there are so many trying to follow the crowd, everyone does not think the entirely same way.  The Lord made me with an original design of fingerprints, a personal way of thinking.  I am just so amazed and in awe that, in considering the amount of people in the world, that there are no two exactly alike.  That is an enormous amount of combinations.  An amount that I could never dream of coming up with.
A possible theme day for this blog is a visual of symbolism on Wednesday.  Though I will post an illustration on this blog whenever it suits the day, Wednesday posts will continually be found with an illustration.  This visual will be displayed for anyone to comment on any memories, thoughts, etc. it might trigger.  Despite my choice of word ‘symbolism’, literal or metaphorical thoughts are welcomed.  I will enjoy getting a sense of the different ways you see things.  Images can give lessons as well or teach us something in some cases.  With that in mind, I hope you will feel free to join me letting your unique view on things out.  Thanks.

Small, yet so loud

This is my picture of the day and while it may seem like just a photo of a robin,  it goes deeper than the literal surface.  To think of this bird, it is a small creature that may be hidden in the trees, when leaves are spread out like bunches of feather dusters, or under other things.  Even with its small size, this creature can be very loud and send echoes through the air.  These chirps can be both noticeable and beautiful.

How this relates to this blog?  Usually a lesson or prospective can be found in something that is so small, such as a movement of the grass from the breeze, the color of something, some small action, or a piece of something, yet the lesson or perspective it triggers about life can be very powerful.  It can be powerful in that it might trigger a change in attitude towards something or someone or maybe help someone else in life after the perspective is shared.

I think of a moment in the scriptures that finds the Spirit coming down in the bodily form of a small dove to land on Christ.  Visually, it is small, but the impact of it, or what it stands for is lasting and important.  I am small in size, but the does not have to determine that I can't make a large impact in some way.

Introduction to Lessons in Whispers

Maybe a quiet moment, a movement in nature, or a distant noise echoes a lesson.  I greatly enjoy new perspectives and often find spiritual perspective in the little things.  It reminds me of a story in scriptures where the Prophet Elijah is about to meet with the Lord, as a fire, earthquake, and other loud and great events pass.   Elijah does not find the Lord in any of those things.  Instead he finds his Lord in a whisper.

I can look out my window in the morning, where my blinds are never fully lowered, and find some little parallel to the bible, Christian journey, or just some little realization about life.  To begin, slipping out of bed the other day, I sat at the window for a short time and stared off into the sparkles in the powdered snow.  I was amazed at how the brilliant white was so illuminate and seemed to brighten the outdoors so much, even with the gray clouds hovering overhead and no sun.

The illuminating effect of the snow in its surrounding reminded me of the life of a true believer.  One who is of the Spirit has the light of the world, who is Christ Jesus, in them and as they are made more and more like Him, they shine brighter and brighter.  They can be seen like a beacon in the darker shades of the world.
